(New York, N.Y.) - QBE has awarded $3,000 grants to two Madison charities.

According to QBE President and Chief Executive Officer John Rumpler, the grants are being given to further the QBE Foundation's mission of helping people live more independently, successfully and productively. "Without the assistance of these fantastic charities, people may not be able to make strides toward helping themselves," he said. "We are delighted our grants will make a positive impact."

The organizations and the services the grants will support are:
•    American Heart Association - To provide education aimed at building healthier lives, free of cardiovascular disease and stroke.
•    American Cancer Society - To help fund construction of Hope Lodge in Madison, a residential support center for cancer patients and their families.
