After spending the past four years in various Specialty leadership positions, most recently as the Chief Operating Officer of QBE North America’s Specialty Insurance group, Steven L. Gransbury will lead the QBE Accident & Health (A&H) division as President.
“Steven’s extensive experience and knowledge of the accident and healthy insurance industry is critical during this time of growth and expansion for our business” said QBE North America’s President of Specialty Insurance, Jeff Grange.
Gransbury will be supported by the Accident & Health Executive Leadership Team which includes Joe Kipp, Regional VP – Southwest; Ed Wadhams, Regional VP – Midwest; Mike Jacobs, Regional VP – Northeast; Tara Krauss, VP - A&H Underwriting; Phillip Giles, VP - A&H Sales & Marketing; Brett Detels, VP – A&H Technical Underwriting; Denise Sheehan, VP – Special Risk Accident.
QBE’s A&H business consistently delivers double-digit growth and has quadrupled in size since 2009. Employer Group Critical Illness insurance was recently added to the already strong portfolio of Medical Stop Loss, Captive Medical Stop Loss, and Special Risk Accident insurance.
As well as a focus on product expansion, QBE’s A&H business is also expanding its team and geographic footprint to better serve the growing demand in several vital markets including Atlanta, Chicago and San Francisco.
New offices will be opened over the coming year to support existing hubs in Marblehead MA, Minneapolis and Dallas. QBE will fill underwriting and sales positions in the existing locations and expects additional positions to open as new sites are established.
The A&H team – which includes experienced industry underwriters and a number of registered nurses who assist with underwriting, loss prevention and claims management – allows QBE to deliver innovative solutions to the market and better serve clients.
